Mary Cain was a rising star when she first joined the Nike Oregon Project Team of coach Alberto Salazar. His standing within the community was remarkable and many athletes dreamed of being part of his team. So did Mary Cain. She was striving to become the best female athlete in the world. Becoming a member of the Oregon Project seemed to be the final step she needed to fulfil her dream. However instead of improving and developing she started to crumple under the unrealistic demands and methods cultivated in the team.
